XMP (Extensible Metadata Platform) is an XML (Extensible Markup Language) based format. XMP has one or more schemas. A schema consists of properties.

The following schemas are supported:

• Dublin Core - Namespace URI: http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/
  Title, Keywords (dc:subject), Copyright (dc:rights), and other properties
• Basic - Namespace URI: http://ns.adobe.com/xap/1.0/
  Label, Rating, Modify Date, and other properties
• Right Management - Namespace URI: http://ns.adobe.com/xap/1.0/rights/
  Owner, Usage Terms, and other properties
• Photoshop - Namespace URI: http://ns.adobe.com/photoshop/1.0/
  Headline, Category, Credit, and other properties
• TIFF - Namespace URI: http://ns.adobe.com/tiff/1.0/
  TIFF metadata properties
• Exif - Namespace URI: http://ns.adobe.com/exif/1.0/
  Exif, GPS metadata properties
• Exif EX - Namespace URI: http://cipa.jp/exif/1.0/
  Exif metadata properties added in Exif standard version 2.21 or later

Select image file(s) you want to add, and then choose Metadata > Add > "schema".

Select a schema you want to add a property in the Metadata Type List, then click "+" pop-up button at the bottom of the main window, then choose a property.

• Simple Type
  It has one data element. (e.g. Creator Tool of Basic schema)
• Structure Type
  It has a set of data elements. (e.g. Creator's Contact Info of IPTC Core schema)
• Array of the Simple Type
  It has one or more data element(s). (e.g. Keywords of Dublin Core schema)
• Array of the Language Alternatives Simple Type
  It has one or more language alternatives data element(s). (e.g. Title of Dublin Core schema)
• Choice Type
  It has one data element which is chosen from pre-defined elements. (e.g. Exposure Program of Exif schema)
• Array of the Choice Type
  It has one or more data element(s) which is/are chosen from pre-defined elements. (e.g. IPTC Subject Code of IPTC Core schema)

Click button to edit metadata.

Click button to add new element.

Click the flag button to change language of the metadata element. The language of the first element should be Default.
Click button to add new element.

You can customize the list of languages in the Preferences.

IPTC Photo Metadata in XMP are composed of properties of different schemas.
(e.g. Headline from Photoshop, Title from Dublin Core、Creator's Contact Info from IPTC Core)

Photo Meta Edit shows/edits IPTC Photo Metadata embedded in XMP.

Select the IPTC Photo Metadata in the Metadata Type List, and then you can see the IPTC Photo Metadata items. You can drag-and-drop an item in the order you want.
The Creator's Contact Infomation cannot move from the bottom of the list.

If you add/edit the IPTC Photo Metadata items by using the IPTC Photo Metadata editing sheet, you don't have to alternate between schemas.

Click the Edit button, and then the sheet will be appeared. If the IPTC Photo Metadata is absent in the Metadata Type List, choose Metadata > Edit IPTC Photo Metadata..., and then the sheet will be appeared.
